Tejada Gets His Wish: O’s get Propsects, Glenn Davis, Bucket of Nickels

December 12, 2007 | WNST Interns

The Andy MacPhail era has begun.  If Tejada wanted out, he’s gotten his wish.  The O’s are getting a quintet of players w/ what seems like solid potential.

Now the Warehouse won’t go so far as to say that we’re undertaking a rebuilding process but at least they’re trying to get value while they can.  The O’s even got to jettison a guy who I can’t imagine wouldn’t be in the Mitchell Report (if it’s worth a damn).

Tejada showed all the mobility of a parking meter last year at shortstop, saw his consecutive games streak broken and saw his RBI and HR totals drop to near career lows.

Past offers for Miggy not withstanding, this can’t be construed as a bad move.  I’ll play Miss Cleo and go ahead and predict a bounce-back in those stats from the ’07 campaign.  Losing is a disease and no B-12 shot could help him shake those symptoms.

At least we didn’t send Schilling, Finley and Harnisch…maybe this will be our chance to right the wrongs of 1990…
