Happy New Year …

September 09, 2007 | Chris Pika

Notwithstanding last Thursday’s opening game between Indianapolis and New Orleans, the start of the New Year for NFL fans is today’s action. Can the Ravens get off to a good start against a divisional opponent at Cincy? Can New England — with Randy Moss in the fold — become the AFC’s favorite? Can Chicago come out of a weaker NFC to go to the Super Bowl again? All of these questions and more will be answered starting for real today.

In the words of former NFL head coach Chuck Knox, “Yesterday is a canceled check, tomorrow is a promissory note, but today is cash on the barrel head.” Who has the cash upfront and who has a mortgage with an adjustable rate that is coming due? — We’ll find out starting today.

Enjoy the games and good luck to everyone in the WNST.net Fantasy Football ’07 contest. It’s not too late to get in and be a part of the fun …
