COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Freshman Jalen Smith scored a game-high 22 points, while four other Terrapins finished in double figures as Maryland cruised to a 100-67 exhibition victory over Lynn Tuesday evening. The game serves as the team’s final tune up before opening their 2018-19 season next week vs. Delaware.

Bruno Fernando finished with a double-double in the 33-point victory, scoring 13 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. Anthony Cowan Jr. and Aaron Wiggins also finished with 13 points, while Cowan Jr. racked up a game-high six assists.

It didn’t take long for the Terps to build up a double digit lead, as Eric Ayala made it 17-7 with 13:09 to play in the opening half. Maryland would lead by as many as 20 in the half, before heading into the locker room with a 54-39 advantage. The hosts took care of business from there, 46-28 in the second half for the eventual exhibition win.

Smith showcased his dynamic scoring ability throughout his first game on the XFINITY hardwood, nailing a pair of three pointers, finishing some easy dunks and hitting an impressive step back floater outside the paint. The Baltimore. Md. native finished 8-for-10 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line while posting six boards.

Darryl Morsell was the fifth Terp in double figures with 12 points, including a pair of three pointers, while adding four assists.
