COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After capturing the Los Angeles Regional title, the Maryland baseball team will face Virginia in the Charlottesville Super Regional, June 5-7, at Davenport Field in Charlottesville, Va.
The Terrapins (42-22) will take on the Cavaliers in a best-of-three series that begins Friday at 4 p.m. (ESPNU). Game two is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. (ESPNU). If necessary, Sunday’s game is tentatively set for 3 p.m. (ESPN2/ESPNU).
Maryland defeated No. 1 UCLA, 2-1, Monday night in the Los Angeles Regional final. Maryland will be making its second straight appearance in the Super Regionals for the first time in school history. The Terps also faced Virginia in this round last season.
The Terrapins have won a school record 42 games this season and are one of just six teams to make the last two Super Regional rounds. The Terps have won 10 of their last 14 postseason games dating back to last season.
The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
