Leonard Raskin talks Terps NFL CBA and Money with Nestor

February 26, 2020 | WNST Audio

Our great friend and partner Leonard Raskin, CEO of Raskin Global, joined Nestor to talk a little Terps basketball, NFL CBA, as well as money management.

Leonard is closely following the developments of the upcoming NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement.

“If they can get this CBA signed by the players, they’re next beauty is how they pay for it all,” Raskin said. “TV is coming up. They’ve got a chance to bring in some ridiculous more coin. They’ll make it look like Pay-Per-View boxing by the time they’re done.”

As always, Leonard went on to share some of his invaluable financial words of wisdom.

“If you’re going somewhere, if you’re taking a trip, I ask people all the time, what’s the most important thing to know if you’re taking a trip – people tell me all the time ‘where you’re going.’ No, it’s where you start,” Raskin said.

The first thing you have to do is say okay, I am here. Where am I? What is going on? What is my baseline? Then if where you want to get to is out there, what are the steps you need to take to move in that direction, knowing the economy is ever changing, politics are ever changing, rules are ever changing, the market is ever changing. How do I protect myself and put myself in the best position to get there. Most people don’t know how.

Raskin continued to discuss the biggest mistake that people make with regards to their money.

“The thing that boggles my mind is people try to do this on their own,” Raskin said. “Money is a hard thing. It’s really hard to do on your own. It would be like Tiger Woods not having a coach. The best of the best have coaches. People don’t do great things without great mentors and great advisors, and to do money on your own is dangerous. It doesn’t have to be Raskin Global but it should be somebody. You got to have somebody on your team with an eye outside of your own looking at what’s going on and making professional recommendations on what you should be doing with your money in all areas – tax, insurance, investment, retirement, estate planning, real estate – there’s so much to know and you need so many people on that team of coaches to help you out.

Our WNST team had the pleasure of attending an informational session at the Raskin Global offices last week and it was quite eye opening and informative. Raskin Global has over 27 years of experience helping customers manage their money and make the best possible financial decisions. Leonard told stories of long-time customers that have been with him for the duration of his company. To us, that is the greatest testimonial that any business can offer potential customers.
