RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman midfielder Justin Mabus has been named as the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, it was announced by league officials on Monday.

“I am very excited for Justin earning the CAA Rookie of the Week honor,” said Tiger head coach Shawn Nadelen.  “Justin works hard and does whatever is needed to help the team be successful and win. We hope to have many more productive weeks out of Justin like we had this past week.”

Mabus earned CAA Rookie of the Week accolades after scoring a goal and compiling three assists during a 2-0 week for the Tigers. The freshman began his week by dishing out three assists in a 17-8 win over Mercer Wednesday. The midfielder followed that up by netting the first goal of his career in Towson’s 13-8 win over defending CAA Champion Delaware Saturday.

Mabus and the Tigers will be seeking their fourth straight win Saturday, March 31 as they travel to No. 20 Hofstra for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Pride.
